Week 7: Memory Verse

Why This Verse

“The LORD was with Joseph” is the theological key to the entire Joseph narrative. It is stated four times in chapters 39–40, always in the context of Joseph’s unjust suffering — as a slave, as a falsely accused prisoner. The verse insists that God’s presence is not contingent on circumstances. Success in Genesis 39:2 is not prosperity; it is the quality of a life lived with God’s presence. Memorizing this verse gives you a lens for reading your own hardest seasons.
