Section 03: The Promise
Section Overview
The story of Joseph is the most sustained narrative in Genesis — a novella of jealousy, betrayal, suffering, and breathtaking redemption. Yet Joseph is never merely the hero of his own story; he is the instrument through whom God preserves the family through whom the covenant promise will reach the world. This section traces the arc from the pit to the palace to the promise kept, and asks what it looks like to trust God through a story you cannot yet see the end of.
What You Will Encounter
- The providence of God working through human failure and evil
- Suffering as neither punishment nor accident but as the path God chooses
- Forgiveness as the fruit of a long theology — not a quick emotion
