Week 2: The Garden and the Fall
Week 2 Overview
This week we move from the glory of creation into the heartbreak of the fall. Genesis 2 gives us an intimate look at the Garden and the first human relationship, before chapter 3 confronts us with the devastating choice that changed everything. We then trace the spreading consequences of sin through the first family and beyond.
Weekly Memory Verse
“The LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.” — Genesis 2:7 (ESV)

Discussion
Background
Genesis 2 is not a contradiction of chapter 1 but a close-up view focusing on the creation of humanity and the establishment of marriage. The serpent in chapter 3 represents the subtle way temptation often works — not through brute force but through questioning what God has said.
